WELCOME

WE are a parish of the Anglican Catholic Church in Australia, a member church of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion.

WE are an Anglican church where the Catholic Faith is taught, and where the seven Sacraments of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church are administered according to the Rites and Ceremonies received from the Church of England.

WE are "mainline Christians" often referred to as Traditional Anglicans or Anglican Catholics for we do nothing new, but rather continue to believe and practise the ancient Catholic Faith in its Anglican expression, much the same way as it has been believed and practised by the vast majority of the baptised down through the centuries and throughout the world. We continue the (male only) Apostolic Order of Bishops, Priests and Deacons. The ancient Lay Order of Deaconess for women has been revived in the Traditional Anglican Communion.

AT the Lambeth Conference of Bishops held at Canterbury, England in 1998, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the world's Anglican bishops recognised us as being part of the Anglican family.

ALL Anglicans profess their belief in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church in the historic Creeds. In the Book of Common Prayer you will find the word "Catholic" used again and again. Hence the word "Catholic" in our title. We are Anglican Catholics just as other Christians may be Roman Catholics.

CHURCHES of the global Traditional Anglican Communion are to be found in England, Ireland, United States, Canada, Central and South America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Africa, India, and the Philippines.

CONSTANTLY in this church is held the one service which Our Lord himself ordained when he said, "Do this in remembrance of me." The Faithful can receive the Body and Blood of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.

There is a feeling of holiness in this church - of prayer, sacredness and love which triggers a deep-seated human instinct to reach out to God.

OUR parish church is dedicated under the heavenly patronage of Our Lady of Walsingham. We chose this patronage of the ancient shrine of the Incarnation, and known as "England's Nazareth", located in the tiny village of Walsingham, Norfolk, England because it is bound up in the heritage and history of the Church of England which we continue. In 1968 the late Bishop of Rockhampton, Theodore Bruce McCall, placed the Anglican diocese under the heavenly patronage of Our Lady of Walsingham after returning from a pilgrimage to the Anglican Shrine and placed a statue in the Lady Chapel of St. Paul's Cathedral, Rockhampton.

Our Bishop is The Most Reverend John Hepworth.
